SBVC CAMPUS
Ehrlich Architects completed master planning services of the existing San Bernardino Valley College campus after the identification of a seismic fault and fold zone in 1999. This earthquake hazard diagonally bisects the existing infrastructure, and necessitates the seismic repair of demolition and reconstruction of nearly every building on the campus.

Working in conjunction with the educational plan of the college and a successful hazard mitigation grant application, the master plan calls for repositioning new buildings (learning resource center, campus center/administrative office, life science building, and art center/gallery) in such a way as to create two quads each at the end of a primary circulation and park spine. Subsequent redefinition of the pedestrian and parking infrastructure will accommodate future growth of the campus and focus on the creation of a special sense of place.

Ehrlich Architects is working as Design Architect on the project with Thomas Blurock Architects as Executive Architect. Four of the five new buildings are currently in construction.
